VEER MERCH is better than candy

veer_merch

If you are looking for the perfect gift for a graphic designer, look no further than Veer. Not only does Veer have my favorite collection of stock photos and amazing fonts, they also have a little shop with some awesome products. The Art Optimist Pen is a new addition to the shop, along with the T towel designed by Studiopatró. The throw pillows designed using Alejandro Paul’s beautiful typeface, Candy Script would be perfect for the font lover. And of course who can resist a beautiful pun? The swash buckle belt buckle always make me chuckle. A shop that will make any designer giddy.

NICK CAGE as everyone

nickcage_as_everyone

I can not tell a lie… I love Nicolas Cage. Wild at Heart, Raising Arizona, Valley Girl, National Treasure, Lord of the Rings… wait that’s not quite right. As far as movie crushes go its a close tie between Nic and John Cusack. This morning I about fell off the bed laughing so hard at this awesome blog Nic Cage as Everyone, a cross between the love of photoshop and the ridiculousness that is Nic Cage. So take a minute and marvel at Nic Cage as some of your favorites.

TROPICAL icy land

emerald_lake_1

So many brides dream of tropical adventure and island breezes as the backdrop for their special day. I dream of something else altogether. Awe inspiring mountains, the changing of seasons, fireplaces and apple cider. Emerald Lake Lodge in Yoho National park is my newest destination wedding obsession. The ground laden with freshly fallen leaves or blanketed in a fresh coat of snow, either way Emerald Lodge is the perfect landscape to say I do.

LOST the final season

lost_2010_art_1

One of the things I am really looking forward to in 2010 is the final season of LOST. So many questions. What’s the deal with the four toed statue? What’s up with Libby? Where the heck is Claire? So little answers. I’m hoping that many of these will be answered in the last season, even though I’m sad to see this show go, I’m ready for closure.

Gallery 1988 in California recently hosted a Lost inspired show, filled to the brim with some amazing pieces. from some very talented artists. For those who were lucky enough to attend the opening of the show Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were also in attendance. I’ve picked out a few of my favorite pieces and recommend checking out the rest of the show here.

CLOCKWISE TOP: Andrew Hem “We Have To Go Back” • Lauren Gregg “Charlie” • Carlos Ramos “The Swan”
CLOCKWISE BOTTOM: Leontine Greenberg “Smokey In Disguise”  • Wade Schin “Locke” • Ken Garduno “T” • Dan May “The Polar Bear Conundrum”
